If you suffer a leakage or blockage in your water supply pipe, internal gas supply pipe or domestic electrical wiring at your home, we will arrange for an authorised repairer to carry out necessary repairs to the damaged section of the pipe

Break-in, vandalism or accidental damage that compromises your home security

• Break-in or vandalism that compromises your home security. (A crime reference number may be required to support claim).
• Accidental breakage of fixed glass in windows, doors or roof
• Reasonable costs of replacing & fitting locks to outside doors if keys are lost or stolen

• Relevant documentation, such as a Police crime reference number for break-ins and vandalism, will be required to support claim

What is covered

The only available key to any external door to your home (including garages) together with keys to alarms and padlocks on external doors

Features/ Benefits

• Where your key(s) have been stolen or lost along with details of your home address, we will cover the cost of replacing the lock(s), including fitting. In the case of stolen keys, this must be reported to the police and a crime reference number obtained
• In the case of lost key(s) or key(s) locked inside your Home, at our discretion, we may choose to make alternative arrangements to obtain the duplicate
• You must notify us within 30 days of loss of keys or theft, if you suffer damage to locks such that you cannot gain entry to your home

• If you have not notified us of the loss or theft of your key(s) and not obtained our prior authorisation
• If you have not provided us with the relevant documentation to support your key(s) claim, if applicable

What is covered
If property becomes uninhabitable due to health and safety issues, we will contribute towards the cost of alternative accommodation up to £250; you must provide relevant receipts/documentation (this will be treated as pay and reclaim). Protect your bubble will authorise this first.

• In the event of your home becoming uninhabitable as a consequence of a home emergency, and remaining so overnight, we will, subject to our prior agreement, pay up to £250 (including VAT) for alternative accommodation for you
• On receipt of your instruction for a call-out, we will instruct our authorised repairer to report to us in the event that the damage or the damage likely to be caused will render the home uninhabitable

What is covered

Failure of primary heating system in your home.

Features/ Benefits

• If you suffer a failure of the primary heating system, we will advise you how to protect your home immediately and arrange for an authorised repairer to carry out necessary repairs to the system
• If our authorised repairer is unable to rectify the problem in the first visit, leaving your gas system isolated overnight, we will pay up to £250 towards hotel costs

• Any item not forming part of your primary heating system
• For any emergency within the 14 day exclusion period
• Replacement of the central heating boiler or appliance
• A fault with the cold water supply tank, feed or outlet
• A fault with the domestic water supply from the hot water cylinder or gas appliance to the taps
• The repair or replacement of radiators, although leaking radiators will be isolated
• Separate gas heaters providing hot water
• Maintenance or replacement of fan convector or heated towel rails
• Maintenance or replacement of under-floor heating
• Repair due to any defect which may be attributed to the original design
• Any gas appliance not connected to your home primary heating system, such as gas cookers and gas fires
• The replacement of failed cylinders due to wear and tear

What is covered
Arrange for an engineer to carry out a full annual service

Features/ Benefits

• We will arrange for an engineer to carry out a full annual service of your primary heating system and boiler to ensure they are operating efficiently and are in a safe condition
• We will arrange a date with you for this boiler service during the period of cover
• Our service will include some of the following points:
  • Check all safety devices;
  • Check all water, electrical and gas connections for soundness and safety;
  • Check flueways and air intake ducts and flue terminal;
  • Check and confirm ventilation requirements;
  • Carry out a flue flow test and spillage test if appliance is open flued;
  • Check burner gas pressure or heat input against manufacturers data;
  • Check all combustion chamber seals for soundness;
  • Check stability of appliance and any retaining devices;
  • Check the working gas pressure;
  • Carry out efficiency test on boiler;
  • Check radiators are functioning correctly.

What is covered
Mice, rats, wasps' nests within the main home, we will remove any nests and install devices to remove any remaining vermin

Features/ Benefits

• If your home suffers from pest infestation, we will arrange an authorised repairer to remove wasps' and/or hornets nest or an infestation of rats or mice from your home that if not dealt with quickly may cause:
  • risk to your health
  • damage to your home
  • make your home unsafe and uninhabitable
• We will pay for the cost of extermination and/or control of pests in the home in the event of an emergency
• We will remove any nests and install devices to remove any remaining vermin

• For any item not forming part of the pest infestation benefit
• Infestations known to exist at your home prior to the start of this policy
• Any pest infestation where you have not taken reasonable hygiene measures to prevent a pest contamination, where recommendations have previously been made by us
