What is it?

The Personal Emergency product is designed to enable you to live life safely in the knowledge that if the worst happens and you become stuck somewhere without a way of getting home or contacting anyone, you can call us 24/7 on the easy to remember freephone number 08000 SOS SOS (08000 767 767) and we will be able to assist.

Our expert agents will work out the best way to help you resolve or avert difficulties. Then, when you are safe and ready to, we will contact you to start an insurance claim so that we can reimburse you for any costs you have incurred and any personal possessions you may have had stolen.

Who is this for?

You, me and everyone else (over 18 years of age). It's great for social butterflies, commuters, travellers, students, parents, grandparents and anyone that might ever experience life's hiccups. Our Personal Emergency Assistance is designed to be that reliable friend that you can always count on - the friend you need when things go wrong.

What does it cover?

• It will get you home - We will arrange emergency transport home or accommodation for the night - whichever is the most feasible;
  
• It will bar your phone - We will, through your airtime provider, arrange for the cancellation of your mobile phone and credit / bank cards to prevent them being used by anyone else if they have been lost or stolen;
• It will cancel your cards - We will also do the same for your debit and credit cards, cancelling those you have registered with us with your card issuers
  
• It will arrange a locksmith - in the event your keys are lost or stolen we'll arrange a locksmith for you;
• It will send messages to your family and friends - We'll send a message to your friends and family to let them know what has happened and that you are safe. If you can't remember their numbers, don't worry if you have registered their details with us, we will do that for you either by phone call, email or text;
• The policy will then try and reimburse you for some of the costs incurred by you during the resolution of your emergency situation - We will contact you once you are home safely and get a claim started for some of the costs you have incurred which depending on the level of cover you have chosen could include costs for transport, accommodation, food, locksmiths and even a cash amount;
• It will insure your possessions - The possessions you carry with you are insured against theft while outside of your home (anywhere in the world). There is no need to register items it doesn't matter how old they are. It covers everyday items that you carry with you including (but not limited to) PDA's, iPods, MP3 players, Cameras, Laptops, Portable Games Consoles, Handbags, Cosmetics etc.

What constitutes an emergency?

An emergency is defined as a sudden, unexpected event involving you, that occurs during the period of cover, which in our opinion:

• exposes a risk to your personal safety; or
  
• leaves you without your personal possessions due to loss or theft; and
  
• necessitates immediate remedial action.
