Winter Sports Cover

Your winter holiday is important to you. Don't let a series of "what if" worries stop you enjoying it to the full! Our winter sports optional cover is designed to give you the peace of mind you need to relax and have fun.

A sample of the protection offered includes:

emergency medical cover of up to £10m;

• up to £1000 worth per item of ski equipment  if lost or stolen;
• refund of the cost of unused ski pass or ski school fees if you are unable to travel; (for reasons specified under the cancellation section);
• £20 per day to assist you in getting to another ski area if you are unable to ski due to lack of snow for more than 24 hours;
• cover if you need to cancel due to redundancy, in line with existing legislation.
  

A sober reality

Having good winter sports cover isn't just a question of protecting yourself against theoretical but unlikely eventualities. According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, 1 in every 100 skiers is likely to suffer an injury in a typical 5-day ski holiday and for snowboarders this rises to 1 in 50 (Source - ProtectyourBubble.com press release - 29.01.2009)

If you're a winter sports enthusiast, you may be well aware of the risks of injury but unfortunately problems on a winter holiday do not restrict themselves to street-credible accidents such as falling while heading down the slope.

• losing your travel documents or prescription medications;
• dental problems that suddenly flare-up needing urgent medical attention;
• being unable to go on the holiday due to illness of a relative;
• major travel delays for various reasons (greater than 12 hours);
• missing a flight due to travel delays;
• lost luggage;
