Photo syncing iPhone app connects wirelessly

 A new iPhone app called Cinq is available for download allowing users to automatically add photos via their mobile device to their laptop or desktop at home whilst on the move.

 

Users have to first download the Cinq app for Windows or Mac to create a mini-server on their computer and register an account, then download the Cinq app for the iPhone and log in to their Cinq account via the handset.

 

The app then allows users to send full resolution photos to their computers whilst on the move, essentially syncing the smartphone and computer apps for free movement. As you take photos through the app on your iPhone Cinq saves it straight into your Cinq folder on your computer desktop.

 

As the Cinq app describes itself in the app store ‘Our award-winning application now turns your iPhone camera into the first and only device to automatically send full resolution photos home as you take them’.

 

The app also allows remote access to the users’ home photo library via their iPhone so they can browse through huge archives whilst away from their computers. Importantly this means that people using the app can see and share all their photos anytime, anywhere.

 

Furthermore, the app hooks up nicely with social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter (via TwitPic), giving users the facility to share any photo from their home library, no matter their location.

 

Cinq also does away with the need for USB cables to sync photos between iPhones and computers, giving budding photographers ever more freedom.

 

A forum post on the Wired website, apparently posted by Cinq via the username CinqApp, explained, “We keep all metadata from photos. Also, there is no need to put them onto a server and pay for storage too as we let you access your photos directly from your computer. We can send any photos taken with the iPhone or new iPod touch directly to your computer so that they are backed up and viewed immediately by others in the household.”

 

Indeed, as the resolution of photography continually improves via smartphones and consumers become more at ease with cloud based solutions additional apps such as Cinq are likely to become more and more commonplace.
