Earlier this year, we helped out at Pinkneys Green Youth and Community centre – clearing, cleaning and painting an outdoor area for local kids.

Pinkneys Green Youth and Community centre provide a wide range of services for young people in Maidenhead. When we heard about their fantastic work, we reached out to offer our support.

We were delighted to hear they needed help rejuvenating an area outside the building, so we drew up designs, gathered the troops and, with the help of Tracy and co., started work on-site on Tuesday 31st July.

We began pulling weeds from concrete and removed some overgrown foliage from the metal fencing…

… then disposed of the garden waste and swept the floors, before we cleaned and sanded the walls to prepare for painting. Thirsty work!

We also put up some new wooden fencing to give families a little more privacy when playing in the area.

After that, we carefully started to paint the base layers of the hillside scene on the main wall. All-in-all, a good first day’s work!

Over the next few weeks we did our best to dodge the rain and eventually cleaned, sealed and painted the pavement. Then we got to work on the finer details!

Here it is in all its colourful, scenic glory! (Kudos to our very own art-conjurer Corinne for her excellent designs!)
